Dental Assisting

The program for dental assisting at Broward College is a 10-month schedule that earns an Applied Technology Diploma. Students also have the opportunity to continue their education to earn an Associate of Science degree in the field with the completion of the full-time daytime 12-month schedule. 

Graduates from the program will have acquired an equivalent of 50 college credits. The estimated cost for the program is $6,756.37 for in-state tuition and $19,511.37 for out-of-state tuition. Clinical training takes place in the on-campus clinic and community-based health facilities.  

Students who graduate with an ATD receive certification in Radiography and Expanded Functions, accepted by the state of Florida

Dental Hygiene 

The program for dental hygiene at Broward College allows students to earn an Associate of Science degree in the 12-month schedule. Students who graduate can expect to enter a field with excellent potential for job growth.

The program prepares students for the National Board Examinations for Dental Hygiene known as NBDHE. After graduation, they qualify for Florida state licensure if they complete their practical exam for the Dental Competency Assessments. 

This program follows a “1 + 1” format that allows students to become both certified assistants and registered hygienists by completing both programs back to back. 

Clinical training occurs in the on-campus clinic, Broward research clinic, and community-based facilities. The estimated cost for the program is $8,908.72 for in-state tuition and $21,705.72 for out-of-state tuition.

Which Path is Right for You?

Broward College has three campuses and six centers in Broward County.
